Standard Terms and Conditions for Canal Boat Hire
All references to the 'Company' within these conditions refer
to llangollen-canalboatholiday.com, a trading name of
ABC Leisure Group Ltd., Scarfield Wharf,
Alvechurch,Worcester,Worcestershire,B48 7SQ.

References to time refer to Local time.
References to money refer to Pounds Sterling (GBP).
The following Terms and Conditions together with the general
information provided on the 'Company' Website form the basis
of your agreement with the 'Company'. Before you make a canal
boat holiday booking make sure you have read this agreement
carefully and accept all conditions numbered 1 to 11 as stated.
1.The Crew
* Canal cruising is an activity holiday and includes negotiating
locks which are heavy and hard work and potentially dangerous
and it is for safety considerations that
there are constraints on the ages of the crew who must all be
fit and able.
* You are the person named on the 'Company' Booking Form and
you must be a minimum of 21 years of age and you will be
responsible for the canal boat and its crew.
* The second in command must be 18 years of age or older.
* The third crew member in a 6 berth canal boat at Union Wharf
Marina must more than 13 years old. This does not apply at
our other marinas. The Company and or it's agents have the
discretion to relax this requirement for experienced boat
handlers able to demonstrate their competence.
* The maximum number of persons who can occupy the canal
boat are 4 persons on a 4 berth boat and 6 persons on a 6
berth boat. This number includes babies and children.
* It should be noted that the insurance policy held by the
Company does not allow single sex parties where all the crew
are under 25 years old.

2. Internet Booking & Payment
* When you have chosen your preferred Marina and canal boat
and confirmed that the dates for your canal boat holiday
are available please follow the simple instructions on the
Website and complete the Web Booking Form.
* If you pay by credit card on the web site your booking will
be automatically confirmed by Email.
* If however you prefer not to provide credit card details on
the internet then please call our FREEPHONE 0800-3898004
during office hours and our booking department will be
pleased to process the payment on the telephone.
* Note that there are no extra charges for paying by card.
3. Telephone Booking and Payment
* Alternatively you can call FREEPHONE 0800-3898004 and our
booking department will be pleased to confirm availability,
take credit card payment, make your booking and advise you on
any aspect of your canal boat holiday.
* You will be given a Booking Reference Number that you should
quote in all future communications.
* Your booking will be confirmed by email.
4. Payment
* The HOLIDAY PRICE is the fully inclusive cost of your holiday
and includes fuel, gas, linen, laundry, cleaning, breakage,
breakdown repairs, insurance, car parking and training.
THERE ARE NO EXTRAS TO PAY - REMEMBER THIS WHEN YOU ARE
COMPARING PRICES WITH OTHER PROVIDERS.
* For avoidance of doubt the HOLIDAY PRICE is the price quoted
on the 'Company' website.
* The HOLIDAY PRICE is payable in FULL if you make your booking
within 10 weeks of your holiday date. If you
make a booking more than 10 weeks before your
holiday date we require £149.95 DEPOSIT with
the balance payable 10 weeks before your
canal boat holiday date.
* All payments should be made to the favour of
ABC Leisure Group Ltd.
5. Cancellation
* If you wish to cancel your booking with the 'Company', you
should contact us by telephoning the number shown on your
booking confirmation. The day we receive your telephone
notification is the day on which your booking is cancelled.

* If any payment due in relation to your booking is not paid
by the appropriate date,
the 'Company' is entitled to treat your booking as cancelled
by you. Cancellation charges set out above will then be
payable.
6. The Marina
* If for reasons beyond our control the Marina you have
selected for your holiday become unavailable the 'Company'
reserves the right to change the location of your Holiday to
another Marina.
* In this unlikely event the 'Company' will contact you and
give you as much notice as possible.
* FREE car parking is provided at each Marina at the risk of the
Owner. For avoidance of doubt NO liability for loss or damage
to either the vehicle or its contents is accepted by the
'Company' or the Marina Owner. Your personal effects are not
insured by for loss or damage and you are advised not to leave
any items of value in your car.
7. The Narrow Boat
* Your narrow boat is as generally described on the 'Company'
website. The boat will be cleaned to a high standard, fuelled
and serviced with bedding on board including towels and tea
towels.
* A four berth narrow boat is 45ft long and the sleeping
accommodation will comprise a king size bed in the master
cabin. In addition there is a double make up bed in the
lounge area which has to be made up and closed down daily by
the crew to allow the lounge area to be used for its
designated purpose.
* A six berth narrowboat is 55ft long and in addition to the
above includes two narrow single beds in a middle cabin with
the addition of an extra toilet for privacy.
8. The Holiday
* When you arrive at the Marina you will be required to read and
sign a cruising agreement which contains additional
information relating to your holiday. There is a Code of
Conduct prepared by British Waterways and a copy is provided
on the boat for your information. Non compliance with this
Waterways Code will be a breach of the agreement with the
'Company' who reserve the right to terminate your holiday
forthwith and no claim for damages will be entertained.
Please note that the 'Company' does not guarantee that cruising
will be possible since weather conditions, infrastructure
repairs or unseen events may impose restrictions over which
we have no control. Compensation for loss of cruising time
will not be available under any circumstances.
* You will be required to lodge a security deposit of £500.00
with the Marina on arrival in the form of a credit/debit
card swipe.
This deposit will be refunded at the end of your holiday
provided the boat and its contents are left in the same
condition as at the start of your holiday. It is a condition
of the hire that the boat is left in a reasonably clean
condition with no dirty dishes left. In extreme cases and at
the sole discretion of 'Company' an additional charge of
£75.00 will be deducted from the deposit if the
boat is left dirty.
* Remember that we need to get you on your boat, do the
paperwork and train you - this can take a couple of hours so
arrival later than hrs will require that you stay
overnight at the marina and be specially trained the following
day. If it is necessary to train you on the following day due
to your late arrival there will be an additional charge of
£50.00.
* You will be in complete charge of the boat and are responsible
for its safe navigation. In the event of an accident, you must
notify us at once with full details and names and addresses of
witnesses. IN NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYONE ADMIT ANY
LIABILITY.
9. Check in and check out times
* The boat will be ready for you at 13:30 hrs on the start day
of your holiday.
* The boat must be returned by 09:30 hrs on the last day of
your holiday.
* The 'Company' will retain £100.00 as a
liquidated damage should the boat be returned later than the
specified time.
10. Security Deposits and Damage Waivers
* Although all boats are insured by the Company, you are
primarily responsible for any damage to the boat, it's
equipment or to any third party property and for any loss
of equipment. The Company requires, prior to occupancy, a
refundable security/key/ condition deposit. You also have the
option of taking out a nonrefundable damage waiver. .
Further details concerning these are shown below++ and form
part of your contract with the 'Company'. Notwithstanding the
above if you or any member of your party either fail to comply
with these booking conditions or, should damage or loss to the
craft or equipment be caused as a result of wilful damage or
gross negligence by a client or whilst the client is under the
influence of alcohol or drugs, he or she will be liable for the
full amount of repair or replacement and any resulting costs
incurred by the 'Company'.
++ Security Deposit and Damage Waiver
* Security Deposit (Refundable) Upon safe return of the boat
in a clean and undamaged condition with its full inventory of
equipment, your deposit will be refunded.
* Damage Waiver (Nonrefundable)
This optional payment frees you from liability for accidental
damage to the boat or it's fittings or loss of equipment.
It does not cover damage or losses caused by negligence on the
part of the hirer or return of the boat in an unclean condition,
or late return of the boat, which will incur an extra payment.
This will in normal circumstances be deducted from the deposit.
Standard levies per holiday unless otherwise stated
4/6 berths
A security deposit of £500.00 which is
payable on arrival prior to occupancy, and is refundable.
Damage waiver of £45.00 is non refundable
- This is optional and is payable when booking, or
prior to occupancy.
11. The Other Bits
* These terms and Conditions affects your Statutory Rights.
* Prices displayed on our website are subject to change
without notice.
* A maximum of 2 pets are permitted on our boats at the
following marina(s) :
Alvechurch Marina - £25 per pet - maximum 2 pets.Blackwater Meadow Marina - £25 per pet - maximum 2 pets.Gayton Marina - £25 per pet - maximum 2 pets.Worcester Marina - £25 per pet - maximum 2 pets.Anderton Marina - £25 per pet - maximum 2 pets.Hilperton Marina - £25 per pet - maximum 2 pets.
Pets are only permitted when authorised in writing on your
booking confirmation.
* Please read this document carefully as they set out the
respective rights and obligations of each party.
* The 'Company' reserves the right to refuse any booking
without notice and any monies paid will be refunded in full.
* Please note that only one promotional canal boat holiday
offer can be used per booking.
